At the last minute, I was able to scrounge up a media credential to photograph the Bon Iver concert at the Mesa Arts Center last night. Great band, great venue. One of the nice things about photographing an up and coming indie band like this is the relative freedom they give photographers. The rule for photographers with more established acts generally is three songs and out. Last night, I was able to stay for the full set and the band’s publicist, Lucy Robinson, even graciously reserved a seat for me. I only sat in it for three songs, because I was wandering around shooting, but it was a very thoughtful gesture. Meet Justin Vernon, Mike Noyce, Sean Carey and Matthew McCaughan – Bon Iver.
